Description

This unit introduces learners to the knowledge they need to enable them to take personal responsibility for food safety, as well as understand the basics principles of food safety necessary for those working in the hospitality and catering industry preparing food.

The unit identifies some of the necessary good practice, including the legal requirements that must be applied to the storage and cooking of food, as well as the basic principles of good practice needed to keep food areas/kitchens clean and safe.
